Plummers Farm Barn wanted an alternative heating option for their dream barn conversion retirement home. After we discussed with them the best options for their heating and hot water system, ground source heat pumps were suggested and the decision was made.
We installed a Viessmann Vitocal 300-G 13kw ground source heat pump, with 700m of horizontal ground collector.
A 3 zone individually weather compensated under floor heating system was installed to the first floor, bedroom, ground floor and out building workshop. All fully controlled by the Vitotronic control unit in the heat pump unit, giving this system the most advanced and comfortable temperature control available.
Domestic hot water heating was also provided by the heat pump, and supplied to the house via a secondary hot water loop, ensuring unwanted cold water draw off was kept to a minimum.
